RUSTIC WARMTH AT FLAXTON GARDENS
Bre and Alex’s wedding was at the gorgeous Flaxton Gardens overlooking the most incredible views of the Sunshine Coast hinterland all the way to the coast. As it was a winter wedding we really wanted to bring a sense of warmth and rustic charm with a youthful edge. We drew inspiration from the gorgeous surrounds for her wedding flowers and used a layered colour palette of soft apricot, plum, peach, raspberry, blush, lilac complimented with lush deep greens, black ivy berry and magnolia branches.
We used the very best blooms that winter provides us with David Austin Juliette roses, snapdragons, hyacinth, lullaby roses, spray roses, waxflower, freesia, cluster lace roses mixed with ivy berry, jasmine, viburnum and pepper tree foliage. The scent of the bridal bouquet was intoxicating and looked stunning with Bre’s custom-made Karen Willis Holme’s wedding dress.
The floral design at the ceremony space needed to be rustic and romantic, what better way to incorporate the wine barrels- after all Flaxton Gardens is set on a vineyard! We also did not want to obstruct the view either so we created an arbour less arbour constructed on the wine barrels. These were then moved inside to be further enjoyed at the reception.
For the reception, Bre chose to use our vintage brass chalice bowls filled with blooms that reflected the rustic warmth of the room and trailing along the bridal table we made a lush garland of luxurious magnolia, jasmine and camelia.
We adored getting to know Bre, her mum, and sister during the planning stage of the wedding and bringing Bre’s vision to life on the day itself. We loved Bre’s relaxed and trusting vibe which made our job a joy from start to finish, thankyou Bre for letting us be apart of your day!
