Willow Bud is about embracing nature within your wedding flowers. It is about mixing flowers, berries, herbs, leaves, fruit, lace and natural fabrics to create your dream bouquet. Willow Bud’s signature is mixing a special bloom out of my garden and placing it in your wedding flowers as something special, that way no one can ever have your bouquet- as it will be a complete one off  just for you. Willow bud specializes in rustic, garden picked, natural, and vintage floral design bringing life into stylish table center pieces, ceremony styling and floral accessories.

Willow Bud is a personalized service offering the very highest quality flowers. By only committing to limited weddings this ensures more time goes into the planning of your wedding flowers. The studio is situated in a little village named Woombye, surrounded by lush farmland at the foothills of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. This means that floral designer and owner of Willow Bud, Sandi, can visit the flower growers first hand and at some farms hand pick flowers fresh for your wedding. How special is that!

About Me

Hi, my name is Sandi Shankster and I am the floral designer of Willow Bud. As a child I loved picking flowers in my granny’s garden and watching the trees and plants grow and change during the seasons. I have always had a fascination with nature and now, all grown up I feel so content working with flowers.

My Grandma was a florist and my mum, an avid gardener so it always seemed natural for me to follow a similar path and become a wedding florist. I also have a background in fashion design and love to incorporate natural and unusual textures of lace, silks and cottons with flowers, bark and berries.

I created Willow Bud so I could work closely with brides one on one. My aim is to  give brides more time and customer service so that together we can create dream flowers at any budget. Willow Bud is a home studio based service that only focuses on wedding flowers. Situated in Woombye at the foothills of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland the studio is at the heart of the Sunshine Coast. Only 15 minutes to Montville, 15 minutes to Mooloolaba, 30 minutes to Noosa and 30 minutes to Caloundra. I only book 2 weddings per weekend so I have more time to focus on what each client requires.
